
Managing Harvest Through COVID-19
Immediately following the AGM we will be hosting a panel discussion on Managing Harvest through COVID-19. Panelists to include representatives from WorkSafe BC, AgSafe, and winemakers who managed their harvest during the initial onset of COVID-19 in Australia and New Zealand.

1:30 – 3:00 Panel Discussion - Managing Harvest through COVID-19
Panelists include:
- WorkSafe BC, Steve Marino - Employer responsibilities and accountabilities for seasonal harvest workers
- AgSafe, Ron Maciborski - Lessons learned from other agricultural commodity groups in B.C.
- Gordon Russel - Winemaker for the Esk Valley brand, under the umbrella of the Villa Maria Group of wineries, since 1993. For Gordon, COVID-19 meant living on site at the winery for one month until restrictions were eased. Through careful planning they were able to keep COVID out of the winery and were able to complete a successful and very memorable harvest. Gordon will share his experiences in the discussion.
- Jeremy Dineen - Chief Winemaker and General Manager of Josef Chromy Wines from Tasmania Australia. Jeremy directed the operation of the winery and vineyards through the outbreak of the COVID 19 pandemic learning the skills required to keep his team safe through the use of technology, hygiene and social distancing.
